CSCS Cards

This card is designed for individuals seeking a short-term CSCS card or new to the construction industry to assess their suitability for employment. It is valid for six months and cannot be renewed. Eligible applicants must have never held a CSCS card before, and it can only be issued once. To obtain another CSCS card after expiry, you must complete or enroll in a recognized construction- related qualification during this period to qualify for a trade-specific card.

This card is for individuals looking to perform basic task at the construction site or working in a Labourer/ General Operative role or do not have construction experience. This can also be an entry level card for beginners. This card was valid for 5 years, however due to recent change in CSCS it has been reduced to 2 years only to ensure that this card is being used by people performing basic task only. Existing Green Labourer Card holders can renew their card for 5 years after providing endorsement from employers/ contractors stating you are currently working in Labourer’s role however renewal must be within 1 year of existing Green card expiry.

The Blue Skilled Worker Card is for skilled worker who have accomplished Construction Related NVQ/SVQ level 2 or C&G Craft certificate / Employer sponsored apprenticeship. This card is valid for 5 years; it can be renewed after completing relevant CITB health and safety test.

The Gold Skilled Worker Card is for skilled worker who have accomplished Construction Related NVQ/SVQ level 3 or C&G Advanced Craft certificate / Approved apprenticeship. This card is valid for 5 years; it can be renewed after completing relevant CITB health and safety test.

The Gold Supervisor Card is for individuals holding Supervisory/ Technical Occupations who have accomplished Construction Supervisory/ Technical related NVQ/SVQ level 3 or NVQ/SVQ level 4. This card is valid for 5 years; it can be renewed after completing relevant CITB health and safety Supervisor test.

The Black Card is for Construction Managerial position holders who have accomplished NVQ/ SVQ Level 4 or above in Construction Management/ Construction Contracting Operations Management. This card is valid for 5 years; it can be renewed after completing relevant CITB health and safety Manager’s and Professional test.

The Red Trainee Card is for someone who is registered in vocational or academic qualification, has no or less experience and has not completed yet (Qualifications accepted for skilled worker Card). You need to complete relevant CITB Health and Safety Test.

The Red Experience Card is for someone who is registered in National vocational qualification Level 2 or above and working in that specific role (Qualifications accepted for skilled worker Card). You need to complete relevant CITB Health and Safety Test. This card is valid for 1 year and allows you to access job sites while you complete your qualifications and this is a non-renewable card.

The (TSM) Red Technical Supervisor/ Management Card is for someone who is registered in National vocational qualification of Supervisory/ Managerial level and working in that specific role. You need to complete relevant CITB Health and Safety Test. This card is valid for 3 years and allows you to access job sites while you complete your qualifications and this is a non-renewable card.

The Academically Qualified Person card is for professionals who have achieved Degree/ HNC/HND in Construction, Engineering, Architecture and Construction Surveying from UK. Non-UK degrees are also accepted if it is converted through UK ENIC and compared to UK level of Qualifications mentioned above. This card is valid for 5 years.

The Professionally Qualified Person card is for professionals who have achieved membership of CSCS Approved professional bodies. You need to provide evidence of your current year membership. This card is valid for 5 years.
